Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)

What is Zero Trust Network Access?

Rather than an actual technology, ZTNA is a methodology where you assume that nothing inside or outside your network is trusted. This is a move away from a traditional network where any device on an internal network is thought of as a known and trusted device. The downside to the traditional design is that once an internal device has been compromised, an attacker can freely move laterally, gathering and exfiltrating whatever data they can find.

 

With a Zero Trust model, you are instead declaring every device and user as untrusted until they have proven otherwise. This then allows access to target devices and network segments to be restricted based on user identity and purpose, ensuring that only the required users are accessing your most critical data.

Identity providers such and Okta and Ping allow us to ensure there is robust, policy-driven authentication of users, including multifactor where desired. These identities are then consumed by Check Point or Palo Alto security solutions to provide advanced security screening of connections in and out of your protected segments.

Business Development apprentice

The Opportunity

As part of our dedication to growing and developing our staff, we are now looking for 3 x Business Development Apprentices to come on board and join us for a Level 3 IT Technical Sales apprenticeship.

You’ll be learning everything there is to know about technical sales practices from our skilled and experienced team whilst being supported to gain qualifications and skills that will set you up for your career.

More about the role

As a Business Development Apprentice, you’ll primarily be bringing new customers on board. This means you’ll be getting in contact with potential organisations who could benefit from our solutions and services, striking up conversations and positioning us as the industry experts and technical authority in our market.

Specifically, using telephone, email, social media, you’ll contact potential customers, develop an understanding of their requirements and convey the value of our services as well as our company.

You’ll be working as part of the SEP2 team, who will assist and support you, negotiating the best pricing and processing sales once they are signed off.

From the outset, you’ll have the chance to take responsibility for your own projects meaning this is an excellent opportunity for ambitious aspiring sales professionals to take charge and make their mark.

What will you need?

To be considered as a Business Development Apprentice, you will need:

  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm and drive
  • Strong English verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with those directly responsible for cyber security

Other organisations may call this role Sales Apprentice, IT Sales Apprentice, Cyber Security Sales Apprentice, Trainee Technical Sales Rep, Trainee IT Sales Rep, Junior Sales Executive, or Junior Technical Sales Executive.

Your Rewards

You’ll be starting on a basic salary of £16,000 which will increase throughout your apprenticeship to £20,000. With bonuses and commission gained from your sales, it’s envisaged that at the 18 month/two year mark, you’ll be earning around £36,500 and by three-four years, your annual payslips will read £85,000.

Senior Network Security Engineer

The Role

SEP2 are recruiting a Senior Network Security Engineer as we continue to grow and expand. This is a full-time position with occasional travel to the Leeds office once a month or when needed.

Key Tasks

  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers in a range of Cyber Security solutions
  • Working within the security operations team, managing cyber security solutions to defend customer infrastructure from exploitation and cyber-attacks.
  • Being able to take technical requirements and document and delivering them via a Professional services process.
  • Identifying training and development requirements for vendor certification.
  • Producing high-quality technical customer services.
  • Producing high-quality technical designed and implementation documents.
  • Helping to support and mentor current Apprentices.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • 2 years experience as a Security Support Engineer or similar role required
  • Advanced experience of networks/networking is required.
  • Experience in using Check Point as a primary product.
  • Be working at CCSE level or happy to gain accreditation if at CCSA.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • The ability to build credibility quickly with colleagues and customers.
  • Good Communication Skills.

Person Specification

Any relevant industry experience will be advantageous.

Personal Attributes

  • Self-motivated to learn and improve to remain up to date with technologies and concepts within the security industry.
  • ‘Can-do’ attitude.
  • Ability to build and deploy technical lab scenarios using industry standard tools such as virtualisation and physical hardware.
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.

Accounts Assistant

We are currently recruiting an Accounts Assistant. This position is part-time, 27.5 hours a week on a hybrid working basis (2 days in the Leeds office, 3 days working from home).

The primary function of the Accounts Assistant is to support the day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable process under the support and direction of the Data and Accounts Manager, ensuring the smooth-running of process to maximise team efficiency and adherence to company policy and procedure.

Main Tasks

  • Input day to day bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
  • Adding business expenditures to accounting platform
  • Accounts reconciliations
  • Scheduling distributor bill payments
  • Assisting the Accounts Analyst in preparing and scheduling batch payments.
  • First line handling AP and AR enquiries
  • Account transactions audit for accuracy
  • Review and flag ‘late payers’ (cash flow management)
  • Processing and tracking orders from our sales team through to a closed sale.
  • Onboarding new customers to the accounts system
  • Orders checking
  • Issuing and chasing purchase orders & invoices
  • Project and support notifications
  • Issuing customer delivery

About You

Above all you will need to display the following personal qualities.
A passion for organisation, be personable and be able to work to daily deadlines. A person that can work independently and as part of a team and enjoy daily variation to their role.

You will need to have the following experience, qualifications, and attributes:

  • Knowledge of low-level accountancy, basic bookkeeping skills essential and a desire to forward that learning would be beneficial but the right attitude supersedes this
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and office management software
  • Familiarity with office management procedures and accounting principles would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience using Xero would be beneficial
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivation
  • Initiative
