Check Point

Forrester says of Check Point – “Check Point doubles down on threat prevention for overburdened orgs. Network security giant Check Point Software Technologies is the largest security company in Israel and was long known for its superior centralized management. Today, Check Point Software Technologies has an admirable vision: to be so good at threat prevention that it protects everyday business customers who aren’t cybersecurity specialists running a sophisticated SOC. Logistics heroics kept Check Point’s supply chain intact during the pandemic, and customer references suggest that the vendor may have turned a corner on support issues, as they cited high satisfaction in this research. The user interface Check Point fields continues to be excellent, being both visually pleasing and intuitive. Recommended site settings for policy creation can greatly simplify good security policy. Check Point excels in overall security performance with superior malware analysis and IDS/IPS. Check Point is the last of the firewall vendors to offer integrated SD-WAN. Reference customers continue to hold the vendor’s usability in high regard, and they praise the company’s new firewall as a service, which offers five 9s at 35ms latency. Large organizations that struggle with effective security operations (and should therefore be interested in better prevention) should look to Check Point Software Technologies.” You can read the full report here.

We have partnered with Check Point to protect multiple organisations across the UK, including University of the Arts London, in which we provide a co-managed service using Check Point firewalls. With the surge in demand at the start of the academic year, this project serves as a great example of how we tailor to organisations differing needs. Furthermore, this is a co-managed service as UAL already had a team of in-house specialists that they wanted to continue to use. This means that we are on hand for 3rd line escalations and larger projects, utilising our team’s wealth of knowledge and expertise with Check Point products. You can read a full case study with UAL here.

Central Response Team Manager

Kieron has been with SEP2 since 2019 and works in our support team.

For Kieron, there is no typical day at SEP2, for one day he can be working through open tickets, another day you could be working on a priority case for the duration of the day, and another day you could be working on an ongoing project, but what Kieron enjoys is that the mix of challenges keeps the role fresh and interesting.

Kieron likes that within the support team everybody works well together, and shares knowledge between every level and are constantly being encouraged to learn.

In his spare time, Kieron’s current favourite hobby is working on his allotment, which gives him a nice change of scenery and a break from technology.
