Since completing my Check Point Certified Security Master R80 certification, I am now joining the ranks of the CCSM qualified elite at SEP2. With 7 CCSM’s we are one of the most CCSM certified Check Point partners in the UK. Until recently this was the best Check Point certification you could own. To achieve the CCSM certification you sit 4 exams in total: CCSA, CCSE and 2 specialist exams in different areas of expertise.
I completed my first Check Point exam in March 2021 and then achieved CCSM status in August 2021 after years of working directly with Check Point. A benefit of acquiring the CCSM certification is that through learning the topics of the exam, I have been taught the correct way that Check Point want us to implement their products and you also learn the various nuances of their different solutions.
Following the CCSM R80, you can then progress to become a CCSM Elite Certified Security Master, which is acquired by passing two Infinity Specialist Accreditations.
It might come as a surprise to Cybersecurity professionals that I have previously worked with to see me achieve this level of certification with Check Point, but it’s always a skill set I have maintained and dedicated time to keep on top of.
I think there are too many MSPs and engineers who concentrate on single vendors and solutions and then try to push their customers to fit into their pre-designed vision. It’s our responsibility as their trusted expert partners to ensure that we have a breadth of technologies, vendors and products ready to meet a customer’s needs.
No one customer is the same, so why would we think that single solutions or vendors would be the perfect fit for everyone? This is why you need to make sure you are working with partners who will mould around your needs. rather than enforcing demands on how your organisation has to work.
