People Power at SEP2
At SEP2, we believe that People Power is one of the core elements of our business. Investing in our employees is a great way to promote individual growth as well as growth for the company. We have recently employed Dave, People Manager, whose role includes Learning & Development across the whole of SEP2. Upskilling our current workforce ensures we can offer our customers a better quality of service. It also means that we can keep our employees happy by helping them achieve their progression goals, and increase their number of skills whilst with SEP2.Â
Mental Health First Aid Training
Recently, Tim – Director, Claire – People Manager and Dave – People Manager, carried out a Mental Health First Aid course. By taking this course, Tim, Dave and Claire have joined the community of over half a million people in the UK who are trained in mental health first aid skills. Mental health can be a complex area for some, so we see the importance of having pioneers at SEP2 who can support and guide our wider team in looking after their wellbeing. This training was delivered by an approved MHFA England instructor, and the certification obtained is from MHFA England to say they are a Mental Health First Aider.
SEP2 Growth
In 2021, SEP2 hired 15 people to join our existing team, with an additional six more to start in their role with us in 2022. With such an increase in staff, we know it is important to make sure our current team members feel confident and have the skills they need to manage a bigger team, and in some cases, to help employees who may be moving into management roles for the first time. Training our existing workforce in management will help them give personalised feedback, improve their communication skills, and help them to understand change management.Â
Leadership Skills Training
As a result of SEP2’s growth, we held a training course with Sarah from the HR Dept. where 15 members of our team attended. In this training, our employees learned how to create leadership strategies and implement them, and the HR aspects of management in a workplace. The feedback from the course was fantastic, with one of our team saying, “The training was good, a lot of content and really interesting. Since the training, I have managed to implement some of my learnings with my team. I found the course very useful.”
